About us

ALL'INCIRCO – PUPPETS AND MARIONETTES was born in 2011 from the meeting of Gianluca Palma (artisan, musician, psychomotricist) and Mariasole Brusa (theatre artist with a degree in philosophy, playwright and director), as a research project on puppet theater and the art of a path that aims to integrate different and complementary techniques (puppets, marionettes, clowning, theatre, shadows, live music) focusing on the narrative power of the image and the relationship between body and object. The research on the puppet and the marionette originates from typical elements of the Italian and global tradition but is mainly aimed at contemporary outcomes. All prop materials (scenes, puppets, marionettes...) are handcrafted, often with recycled materials, by the members of the company. The stories represented are original and designed to involve, through the universal language of the image, both children and adults with the desire to create accessible performances but at multiple reading levels.

Since 2012, more than ten shows have been produced and staged, presented in various Italian municipalities, theater reviews, schools and national and international festivals, winning various awards and recognitions. Since 2014, research has focused on string marionettes and the possibilities of hybridization between different scenic languages. Since 2015 All'InCirco has collaborated with the historic Teatro del Drago Company of Ravenna, participating in the organization of the Arrivano dal Mare International Festival, and in the production and staging of various shows, in Italy and abroad. In 2015 All'InCirco collaborated with the opera singer Rodolfo Sant'Andrea (winner of the critics' prize at Sanremo 1980) in the production of the show Don Giovanni Opera Buffa, a contemporary remake of Mozart's opera which questions gender identity. Since 2017 All'InCirco has collaborated with the Compagnia Instabili Vaganti in the creation of projects and exhibitions in the Bologna area, taking care of the artistic direction. In 2017 the Company was a finalist in the Gianni Damiano National Children's Theater Award, within the Lunathica International Festival with the show Storie Appese a Un Filo. In 2018, the Ecomonsters Puppet Show was produced (which currently has over 300 performances), which features robotic puppets entirely made with recycled objects, a show ranked 3rd at the international festival "Fiere del teatro 2019" in Sarmede (TV) and 1 ° classified at the "EuroPuppetFestiValsesia 2021" festival in Valsesia (VC). In 2019 the show Dante3021 won the "Young artists for Dante" call promoted by Ravenna Festival. In 2021, Pu-Pazzi d'Amore was created, a show in which multiple techniques of puppetry converge and which has already had over 100 performances. In 2024 Gianluca Palma built the sets for the show SPINNU (winner of the SIAE Per chi Crea competition) of which Mariasole directed. In 2024 he also began a collaboration with animation cinema: Mariasole worked together with Caterina Salvadori on the direction of the animated short film MUD for which Gianluca built puppets and sets. Also in 2024, Mariasole won the Under 35 Director's Call for BIENNALE COLLEGGE THEATER with the GOLEM project, for which Gianluca built the puppets. The show will debut in Venice at the 2025 Biennale Teatro.
